First off, there is much humor in this book, which is very appreciated!
Did I learn how to podcast? Probably. It's not simple - the McElroy's try their best to "dumb" it down for non techie people like me.
Recommended to everyone thinking about starting a podcast - they give you every step you need to take and do so in personable way. 5 Stars!
This was a page turner. Told through 3 different characters; The daughter, the father, and the mother. Very well written, believable, smart. One of those books you force yourself to put down or else you'll finish too soon and you want it to last as long as possible.
However, there were a few times it did get long in the tooth with descriptions about the past, though, in essence, you need that information to understand the dynamic between the lead characters.
5 Stars.
A classic. Look to history (even in fiction) for clues to todays world. Characters written so well, they become friends, enemies, and friends again. 5 Stars.
I have chronic insomnia - so this was a very helpful book to me.
Mr. Pelayo wrote in such a way it was charming and the chapters flowed with ease.
What set this book apart from other books I've read is that Pelayo thinks good sleep is more than just "good sleep hygiene (which I have heard from COUNTLESS doctors).
The book delves into our brains, and explains how sleep works (and doesn't work).
I also appreciated that there was a section on dreams.
One thing not really covered is shift work. Many in my family are first responders and they deal with shift work that changes every two weeks.
A quick read but chock full of information.

Beth Harbison's The Cookbook Club is charming, full of friendship, and humor.
Margo, Aja, and Trista are all facing a upheaval, endings, and beginnings. Margo's marriage is over, Aja is pregnant, and Trista is leaving her law firm and starting a restaurant. They meet at the Cookbook Club and the story is uplifting and a light hearted read. Including recipes at the end! Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

Eliza Starts A Rumor is a great book. The characters and story lines were so interesting that it only took me two days to read. The story centers on a few women in a suburb outside of NYC. It touches on our present day social media boards (Facebook) and how damaging it can be. A series of women become connected through a rumor on this board, and it has devastating effects. There is a silver lining among the dark clouds for all the women, and by the end, through courage and strength, all the women are on their way to flourishing.
This book will be available June 23, 2020.
Be a 'victor and not a victim' I need to remind myself of this daily, and I believe America as a whole would benefit by this mindset.
Mr. Crenshaw talks about his SEAL training ...BUDS....and how it affected his life. He was raised with a working ethic and that also helped him in life. He talks about the IED that led to the long road back to returning to a SEAL team. This was so inspirational and moving. Also a message for me: never complain. Stay true in your beliefs.
He states about the "outrage culture": 'A culture characterized by self pity, indulgence, outrage and resentment is a culture that will fall apart'. He also states that culture should be 'grit, discipline and self-reliance'. Words of reflection and motivation.

This is a fascinating book that, at times, does become a tad confusing. An author creates a character who is himself a writer, who then creates a character after the author. Sound confusing? At times, it is. However, each "world" is interesting and each chapter had me hurrying on to the next one. It does all tie together nicely and this is a fresh, creative, thriller that is deeply inviting and shuts the real world out.
